Lecture Delivered at the Luncheon Seminar of the 23rd Kinki Regional Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pressure Ulcers
On March 1, 2026, at the Luncheon Seminar of the 23rd Kinki Regional Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pressure Ulcers, held at the Kobe Campus of Hyogo Medical University, Prof. Masaru Matsumoto, Professor of the Collaborative Research Course in our department, delivered a lecture.
During the seminar, he introduced next-generation pressure ulcer care aimed at realizing well-being under the theme:
“Optimizing Pressure Ulcer Care through Multidisciplinary and Industry–Academia Collaboration
— From Visualization to Intervention and Future Clinical Practice.”
The lecture focused on the clinical implementation of robotics technologies through industry–academia collaboration and multidisciplinary teamwork. It explained the potential of new pressure ulcer care approaches made possible through the integration of nursing and engineering.
In particular, the presentation highlighted initiatives ranging from assessment using visualization technologies to intervention and their application in clinical practice, while sharing perspectives for the future development of pressure ulcer care.
Our department will continue to promote research and practice based on the collaboration between nursing science and engineering, contributing to the improvement of patient well-being.
